Ben & Jerry's
April Fools Takeover
I concepted and designed many online games for Ben & Jerry’s working alongside Flash specialists and developers. One example of which being a topical application for April Fools Day called the “Ice-screen”.
It fooled consumers into believing they could sample Ben & Jerry’s ice cream by licking their computer monitor! It brought over 200,000 people to the Ben & Jerry’s website on the day. This success meant that the client also asked for it to be reformatted after the event to feature in the “fun and games” section of the UK Ben & Jerry’s website. The finished application was also bought by Ben & Jerry’s European markets and generated lots of social media conversations through Facebook and Twitter, as well as being positively critiqued on many industry sites including techcrunch.com
Not only did I concept this idea, Design, Art Direct and Copywrite it I also concepted the brief. Having spotted a gap in the marketing calendar in April I suggested the agency pro actively pitch an April Fools campaign to the client, which we did.
