Ben & Jerry's
'Unfairly Desserted
Flavours' app

This social media campaign invited Ben & Jerry’s ‘flavour fans’ to vote to bring 1 of 8 de-listed
ice-creams back, as a new fairtrade flavour.

I came up with the idea of a ‘dessert island’ where the flavours had been lost at sea (on route from the USA to the UK).

Flavour fans across Europe voted to rescue their chosen flavour via a Facebook app. A personality quiz was a fun way to help determine flavour preference, adding to the user experience and educating on the brand’s fairtrade credentials.
 

The winning flavour was ‘The Vermonster’ with most votes from the 300,000+ users who ‘liked’ the app. My project involvement was conception of the app with scamps and first stage copy and initial mac designs, which then went on into full design and development.
